Sandplay Therapy

‘Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.’  Jung

'Sandplay' was developed by Dora Kalff, a Jung therapist,  in Switzerland in the 1950's and 60's. Sandplay was based on her studies at the C.G. Jung Institute, Zurich, in Tibetan Buddhism, and with Margaret Lowenfeld, in England.

Sandplay therapy allows clients to gain access to their unconscious  through placing miniatures chosen by the client and placed in specially proportioned box containing either dry or wet sand. It is through the individual's creative play and freedom of expression within the  'protected' space of the sand tray that one's inner state is revealed as the unconscious processes take a three dimensional shape within the sand tray.

Sand play therapy is for both children and adults.
